MSD Kicker Ignition & Billet Aluminum Flywheel

 The MSD Kicker Ignition designed for Go-Peds® and Go-Quads is the latest addition to MSD's full line of ignition systems. The Kicker Ignition comes with the same proud racing heritage that all MSD products are born with - tough, durable, accurate. On a Go-Ped® there's lots of banging around & vibration - our Kicker Ignition is built to take it and still deliver a hot spark! The MSD CDI box is completely sealed and potted with a high density ResTech Polyurethane Potting Compound. This makes sure that the internal components are protected from all the hazards that riding a 'ped can throw at it: vibration, water, dirt, fuel, etc.. The Kicker Ignition makes timing a lot easier, and a lot more accurate than the stock coil/pickup. You can control the retard rate from 1/2° per 1,000 rpm up to 1° per 1, 000 rpm with a simple timing adjustment screw on the MSD CDI box. Add the MSD Billet Aluminum Flywheel, and you'll have the most complete ignition set-up ever available for Go-Peds! With the MSD Kicker Ignition's hot spark, and adjustable timing, your Go- Ped or Go-Quad will really move out ahead of your competition.

The MSD Kicker Ignition mounts conveniently out of the way under the ride board on one side of the center tube with a 7.2-volt R/C NiCad battery (radio-controlled model battery) mounted on the other side. We've designed it so that it won't scrape on the ground no matter how hard you turn! Slam your 'ped around like you usually do, and the Kicker Ignition will still keep on faithfully firing your engine with it's hot, predictable, accurate spark. In fact, the Kicker puts out a 2 1,000-volt spark - that's 26 milli-Joules of energy that will turn your Go-Ped engine into a little monster! Why would you want a Kicker Ignition on your 'ped? As the engine revs increase over the stock rpm range, the stock coil is not able to provide e nough spark accurately. The stock coil simply can't keep up with the spark requirements of a high-revving engine. If you've done any modifications to your engine, like adding a higher compression cylinder & piston, you could run into detonation problems w ith a stock coil. With the Kicker Ignition you have more tuning capabilities, so you can get around detonation problems (which can ruin a engine real fast!) with the variable retard rate. You can compensate for changes in elevation, and control engine te mperatures better with a MSD Kicker Ignition. Ever been to a race with modified Go-Peds? Then you've probably seen a stock flywheel come apart, ruining a racer's day. Modified engines rev up a lot faster than the heavy stock cast flywheel was ever designed for, and the flywheel c an literally fly apart! That's dangerous for the racer, the racers around him, and folks in the crowd. That's why the MSD engineers designed a billet aluminum flywheel to replace the stock cast flywheel. And they came out with a real winner! The MSD flywheel is made from one-piece 6061-T6 billet aluminum, turned out on a CNC machine to the exacting specs you would expect from MSD. It's a lot lighter than a stock flywheel, and that means your goped engine is going to be able to rev up quicker. Take a look at the difference in weight between the heavy stock flywheel and the lightweight MSD Billet Flywheel, it's an eye-opener! Since it's made from one-piece billet aluminum (and not cast) you've got a flywheel that 's stronger, balanced better, and allows the engine to rev up quicker. That's a win-win situation from MSD! An adapter, the Pull-Starter Hub bolts onto the MSD Billet Aluminum flywheel with just two bolts, & allows you to use the stock pull starter.
