Chain Adjustment GSR40

ADA Racing GSR™ Billet Chain Tensioner

The ADA Racing billet chain tensioner is designed to work on the Go-Ped® GSR40 and GSR40TSi chain drive models.

Some aftermarket exhaust system may require modifi cation to their mounting bracket. Nothing can be mounted between

the tensioner and the clutch housing, as this will incorrectly space the tensioner wheel.

Trimming of the rear fender is required. The fender will not clear the tensioner arm and will not allow the spring

Adjustment of the backlash stop is very important! If there is too much slack in the chain during deceleration, the

chain could come off. If there is no slack, the chain and sprockets could prematurely wear.

1) Remove the stock chain tensioner.

2) Remove rear axle nut and tilt rear fender forward for easier access.

3) Remove 2 front bolts from clutch housing(as shown)

4) Replace top rear bolt and spacer with the bolt from the lower left

position.

5) Install the ADA billet tensioner using the supplied bolts.

5a) Use the 6x65mm allen bolt with a lock and a fl at washer in the

top position.

5b) Use the 6x40mm button head allen bolt with a fl at washer in the

lower slotted location.

6) Adjust the backlash stop so that there 1/8" between the plastic

stop and the wheel arm(as shown).

7) Reinstall the rear fender, you will need to trim the fender for

proper clearance.

8) Periodically check all bolts for tighteness.

9) We recommend using chain wax or a chain lube that won’t fl y

off. The key to a long chain and sprocket life is a clean and properly

lubricated chain.
